Inlay/Onlay

One of the ways to repair teeth that are not severely damaged may be inlays or onlays.  These restorations are custom made fillings made of composite material, gold, or tooth-colored porcelain. Porcelain inlays are a popular choice because they resemble the appearance and structure of a natural tooth.

An inlay is used on the cusp tips of the tooth. Inlays are frequently recommended if treating with a regular filling would compromise the structural integrity of the restored tooth or would pose a problem with bite forces.

Onlays
Onlays are larger, covering the entire chewing surface, and possibly overlapping one or more edges of a tooth. In some cases, they may extend to neighboring teeth.

After examination, our team will go over your options with you to ensure whatever filling provides you with is the best fit to meet your needs and budget. Our goals are to make your procedure comfortable and of course, to relieve any adverse symptoms you may be experiencing.

To maintain your fillings, you should follow good dental hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and visiting our office for checkups.
